City council meetings are held on the first and third Monday evenings of each month. The meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and are held in the upstairs council room at city hall, Sixth & School, 113 E. 6th Street. The meeting room is accessible for the handicapped via an elevator.
City Council on TV ~ Regular meetings of the Augusta City Council are televised live via cable Channel 7 to cable vision subscribers in this community. Cox Communications provides cable connection (basic $10.35)
Compost Site ~ The City of Augusta operates a compost site for grass clippings and limbs west of the city shop buildings at Fourth & Grove. The current hours are from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
City Library ~ The Augusta Public Library is at 1609 State Street. Myrna Hale is director of the library. The phone is 775-2681. The hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
Municipal Court ~ Municipal court convenes at 4 p.m. each Wednesday in the upstairs council room of the city hall.
